Course Objectives

The SafeDrive 4WD Defensive Driving Course teaches the following key subject areas:

Principles of Defensive Driving
Introduction and familiarization with safe 4WD operations
Basic maintenance of the 4WD and pre-trip inspection
General preparation for off-road trips and journey management planning
Safety, Navigation & Recovery equipment
4WD gear function and driving techniques
Basic Recovery techniques
Off-road practical driving session

Course Outcomes

Drivers will be able to operate a 4X4 vehicle both on and off road in the safest way possible. Drivers will become more familiar with the safety operations of a 4WD while general driving techniques will be improved dramatically.
